			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Gregory Congregational United Church of Christ at 609 Nun Street, Wilmington, will celebrate Women&#8217;s Day on Sunday, June 28, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Dr. Diane Emerson will be the guest speaker for the occasion. The theme is &#8220;A Woman&#8217;s Work,&#8221; and the colors are pink and white. The public is cordially invited to be a part of this special celebration.  </p>
<p>Dr. Emerson attended the local public schools in Wilmington, NC and graduated from Louis D. Brandeis High School in New York City. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Delaware State College, Dover, Delaware, a Master’s Degree in Education from the UNCW, and a Doctor of Philosophy from NC State University, Raleigh, NC. She worked as a high school English teacher and an assistant principal in the public schools of Wilmington. </p>
<p>In Raleigh, she was an education consultant at the NC Department of Public Instruction, Division of School Improvement, Effective Practices Section and was House Education Director in the Office of Speaker James B. Black. Dr. Emerson served in 2004 as House Democratic Education Director in the North Carolina General Assembly. She currently serves as Director of Pre-Kindergarten Programs for the New Hanover County Schools. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Gregory Church Women are sponsoring a <span style="color: #ffff00;"><strong>Community Yard Sale </strong></span>on Saturday, May 30, 2009.<strong> Spaces/tables  in the church yard and parking lot are available to sellers for $20 each.</strong></p>
<p>This is a great opportunity to get rid of items you no longer have a use for, make a little spending money, and help us raise the money to support the Gregory Church Women&#8217;s  program and missions.</p>
<p>You bring your own items to sell, change and shade (patio umbrellas, not tents) and keep the proceeds. <strong>Space assignments are on a first come, first served basis.</strong></p>
<p>The sale will run from <strong>9:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. </strong>Spaces must be torn down and all items of trash or remainders must be removed by 5:00 p.m. <strong>Set-up is available at 7:00 a.m.</strong> In case of rain, we will notify you no later than 7:00 a.m. if the event is postponed. <strong>The rain date is June 6, 2009.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Merchandise</strong> must be displayed on tables or on the ground around your space. All unsold items and refuse MUST be removed after the sale, by no later than 5:00 p.m.  Please restrict items to yard sale items. This is not intended to be a flea market. You may not sell food or beverage items.</p>
